Storm is a 2 year old cat, with a pyothorax with mediastinal involvement.
So far has had reasonable response to medical therapy, but CT indicates residual disease and mediastinal thickening. It is believed that thoracotomy, a surgical opening of the chest, is required to prevent recurrence of condition. In most cases there is an excellent prognosis when this surgery is performed.
Storm recovered well from surgery, and is happy to be headed back home. Another rewarding case, thank you SAIN for helping to make it happen!
